Mr. Jean Christophe Durand
Regional Director - GCC, BNP
Paribas Group

Mr. Durand is a graduate from ESSEC (Ecole
Supérieure des Sciences
Economiques et Commerciales) in Paris 1980 (High School of Economic
and Commercial Sciences).
After spending a number of years at different
capacities in Africa, Mr. Durand came to Bahrain in 1989 with Banque
Indosuez as In Charge of "Private and Institutional Investments for
UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait". He took on various responsibilities at
Banque Indosuez, until he became the Deputy Manager in charge if the
Private Banking and a the Investment Bank for the GCC Countries in
1994.
In 1996, Mr. Durand
moved to BNP Manama Offshore branch (Bahrain) as the Deputy General
Manager. In couple of years, he became the General Manager of the
offshore branch. In 2000, he became the Country Head for Bahrain
covering (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait).
Currently, Mr. Durand is the Regional Director -
GCC Countries, In charge of the regional project for three core
business lines of BNP Paribas Group in the Gulf : International
Retail and Financial Services, Corporate and Investment
Banking, and Asset Management and Services.
Mr.
Durand is also the President of the French Foreign Trade Advisors
association in Bahrain.
He is
also Member of the Executive Committee of Bahrain Bankers Society.
