Ms. Wendy Maddison
Director General, Gulf Insurance Institute (GII)

Wendy is a senior management executive with over 20 years experience serving the financial services sector and who has a strong background in professional training and development.   

Wendy is currently the Director General of the new Gulf Insurance Institute (GII), which she has established on behalf of shareholders from the GCC, France and Sudan.  Prior to setting up the GII she was the Executive Manager of the Bankers’ Society of Bahrain, and started her career in financial services with Societe Generale (London, Paris and Bahrain) and then with Gulf International Bank, Bahrain.  Wendy also served as a part-time faculty member of BIBF for many years, and has written articles and conference papers on training and development issues, as well as delivering workshops and professional training programmes around the Middle East.  From 2000 – 2004 Wendy was a Board Director of the Bahrain Society for Training and Development and served on many organizing and steering committees relating to regional human resources development.

Wendy has a Master’s Degree (MA) in Social Science, a BSc in Management and is a certified teacher of Business English from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
